There is only one Tree Hill

Tonight, One Tree Hill comes to an end.

While I admit that I haven't really watched it the past couple of years, I spent the first 6 or 7 seasons devoted to One Tree Hill nights with the girls.

It filled the void left by Dawson's Creek, and now I'm feeling Dawson's Creek series finale sad all over again. I'd like to say I'm not going to sit at home tonight and watch the finale while crying, but that would be a lie.

I love a good show filled with teenage angst. And by "love", I mean "typically become addicted to."

Nine Things I Learned From One Tree Hill: (Why nine? Because there were nine seasons. Duh.)

:: Even on your darkest day, remember that things get better.
:: We all need a River Court.

:: Sometimes you need others to remind you how strong you are...and that's ok.

:: Don't give your high school valedictorian speech while nine months pregnant.

:: Family is everything...and family isn't always blood.

:: People always leave; but sometimes they come back.

:: Truth is absolute, even when it is cold and hard and more painful than you've ever imagined.

:: Every once in a while, people step up and rise above themselves.

:: We all need a little help sometimes.

The angst-filled teenager inside me is so sad today.

"No matter where you go or who you become, this place will always be with you. There is only one Tree Hill. And it's your home."

  1. I have never watched a single episode but this really rings true with me:

Family is everything...and family isn't always blood.

  2. I've never seen a single episode of Dawson's Creek or One Tree Hill. But I know how much I hate it when my favorite shows end. I still miss LOST, Frasier, Seinfeld, Friends, ER, etc., etc. My fave of your nine: "We all need a little help sometimes." Amen to that!

  3. I felt that way about 90210. I hadn't watched it in year and neither had my friends but the series finale we curled up with pizza and beer to watch it.
